Middlesbrough Town Hall has a variety of spaces which are available to hire for filming, including spaces which can be utilised as production offices.

From The Courtroom to the Main Hall and our Old Police Cells, Middlesbrough Town Hall has maintained its stunning gothic architectural features, making it the perfect location for a variety of shoots.

Spaces such as The Old Fire Station provide more of a blank canvas and can be converted into TV and film sets.

In 2022, Frieda TV brought the first ever TV series to be filmed at Middlesbrough Town Hall, Scarlett’s Driving School, which had great success on BBC One and BBC Iplayer, utilising The Old Fire Station as their Learner Lounge, dressing rooms as the Driving Instructor bases, and the old Courtyard as a fantastic visual background to their series.

Our building has also been used as a location for shows like BBC1’s Strictly Come Dancing.
