Accessibility at Middlesbrough Theatre

We’re committed to making your visit to Middlesbrough Theatre as welcoming and comfortable as possible. Contact us if you need more details about our venue and its different spaces to help you plan your visit.

Booking information

The Box Office is open from 10am to 6pm Monday- Friday, and 10am to 3pm on Saturday.

You can book tickets in person at the Box Office or by calling 01642 81 51 81.

You can get a free companion ticket if you need help from another person to be able to visit the theatre and evacuate safely in an emergency.

Please request your companion ticket when you make your booking. Unfortunately you cannot book companion tickets online.

Companion tickets are available at our discretion. We’ll need to see evidence that you’re eligible. Once we’ve accepted your evidence, it will be valid on our booking system for a 12 month period (or 6 months for a doctor’s note).

Proof of eligibility

The following forms of evidence may make an individual automatically eligible for a free companion ticket in addition to their ticket:

  • a letter from their council confirming receipt of disability allowance
  • local authority disability pass (this does not include a Blue Badge)
  • local authority visual impairment card
  • Disabled Persons Railcard
  • doctor’s note (valid for 6 months only)
  • CEA Card

We know that not everyone with access requirements will have the evidence listed above. If you want to apply for a free personal assistant ticket and cannot provide the evidence above, please contact us using the details below. We’ll assess eligibility on a case-by-case basis.
