About this event
Join our orchestra and come and play with Musinc and The Cobweb Orchestra!
In partnership with our friends at The Cobweb Orchestra, we’re inviting musicians to join our community orchestra for a day of workshops at Middlesbrough Town Hall, finishing with a sharing performance.
Our orchestra is open to all abilities, including those with SEND and neurodiversities, and all instruments, including non-orchestral.
When we release our sign up form we’ll ask what instrument you play and for a description of your ability level so that we can make we have all the right music on the day. Don’t worry if you don’t read music – our tutors will be on hand during the day to support musicians who learn music through alternative methods.
We’ll play family-favourite classical music, including tunes from films, and the day will finish with a sharing performance for friends, family and anyone else who’d like to come along.
Schedule:
9.30am – arrival and registration
10am – welcome, warmups and rehearsals begin
12.15 – lunch break
1pm – afternoon rehearsals
3pm – sharing performance

Pushchair policy
Due to Middlesbrough Town Hall’s fire regulation policies pushchairs, prams & car seats must be left in our dedicated ‘buggy parking’ zone on the carriageway and cannot be taken into any of the event spaces. Unfortunately, we cannot take responsibility for items left there, but we do our best to keep an eye on them.
Relaxed setting
Our events take place in a relaxed environment, and have the following features:
- Our spaces have consistent lighting, with low level auditorium lights on throughout
- Our musicians and facilitators have relaxed attitude to noise and moving around the space
- A quiet, chill out space will be available should you need a break. A limited number of ear defenders are also available from the Box Office
